Group Class Format

Each of our classes integrate a variety of fitness disciplines with a central emphasis. Intensity levels (1 low -10 high) are offered as a guide, but students are encouraged to work at their own pace. Try different classes to find the right mix for you!

Rowing

Intensity Levels: Strength 4 | Cardio 6 | Movement 5

Our cornerstone class focuses on getting your heart rate up while taking periodic mobility “breaks.” Even if you think you move frequently, there are areas of the body that are missed in our everyday life. We teach you the why and the how. This class is designed to not only give you a great workout, but to also to educate you. You will be moving throughout this class, spending time on the water rower while practicing precision in movement with mobility and strength drills.

This efficient, 45-minute class will give you a total body workout!

Registration required. No experience necessary. Indoor footwear required.

Rowing and Pilates for a great combination of cardio and core. Suitable for all students who are looking to advance their Pilates and core training techniques with complex movements (using props such as small weights, resistance bands and suspension training) that will challenge your core from every possible angle. Modified for all levels, our instructors focus on fun and challenging movement with steady progressions.

Core Sculpt Row

Intensity Levels: Strength 5 | Cardio 6 | Movement 5

Core Sculpt Row will tone your entire body by training all your major muscle groups. Alternating intervals with ab work, sculpting and strength training at its best combined with rowing. Nothing is off limits: kettlebells, suspension training, resistance band training and rowing, you’ll do it all in this dynamic class.  A true full body workout!

Rowlicious Sunday Brunch

Intensity Levels: Strength 5 | Cardio 9 | Movement 5

This isn’t your mom’s idea of brunch!  Instead, we invite you to start your Sunday off right with a deliciously intense rowing workout. In this 60-minute class, you’ll challenge yourself with different intensity levels and have fun doing it!

A blend of active strengthening and passive lengthening for a well-balanced body including a short relaxation to finish the class.

Circuit Fun!

Intensity Levels: Strength 7 | Cardio 9 | Movement 5

This class is for those who are looking for a challenging workout containing a mixture of cardio and strength training. This class will utilize props and tools such as battling ropes, kettlebells, the water rower, your own body weight, suspension training and more in order to cross train. Circuit training with rests in between with mobility drills is perfect for those looking to customize their workout to their personal fitness level.

Note: Bring indoor rowing shoes. Typical classes feature short, rowing session for a cardio blast.

Kettlebell training will strengthen you while building bone mass and increasing flexibility. This class includes kettlebells along with other strength tools such as ropes, gladiator walls, and resistance bands. Our kettlebell classes are small so that great attention can be paid to form.

Movement, Mobility, and Muscle

Good movement is essential to looking and feeling your best! This class will ensure you get it all, we will work your full body and include mobility, strength, cardio, and core exercises. We will use all of the equipment and tools available at Uncommon Age, expect to move, sweat, and have fun.

Core Strength & Conditioning

This unique hour is designed for those who are wanting a relatively gentle yet focused entrance back into the world of working out. We will incorporate resistance band training, body weight exercises, mobility drills, along with some light kettlebell work, such as squats, planks and deadlifts.

Restorative Yoga with Breath Work and More

Intensity Levels: Strength 2 | Cardio 1 | Movement 2

Join Cindy Land RN, for this 60-minute, floor-based, slow style of yoga.  Breath work will be the focus which helps to decrease muscle tension for better movement and flexibility.  There will also be work done in Cindy’s specialty, the pelvic floor.
Finish your practice with a silent meditation in shavasana to reap the benefits of your time in class.

Postural Restoration Integration for Fitness & Performance:  Foundations

Intensity Levels: Strength 5 | Cardio 5 | Movement 5

Intensity: 4-5

Wake up your body with part 1 of this series focused on developing movement awareness through an integrated, whole-body approach. Movement awareness helps yield results quickly, whether you’re looking for increased fitness, wider ranges of motion, or specific physical goals.

This 6 week clinic will,offer workouts for your brain and your body. This is for people who are interested in learning skills and techniques to:

  • unlock movement asymmetries;
  • address nagging pain issues;
  • reach performance goals.

We will use a variety of tools in order to learn and apply techniques, including large mat work, circuit training, resistance bands, and rowing among others.  While this class is only 6 weeks long, your large group class pass or unlimited pass may be used.

GYROKINESIS® + a Hint of Cardio

Intensity Levels: Strength 2 | Cardio 5 | Movement 8

A series of seated and floor movements that focuses on dynamic movement and joint mobility, This class incorporates the principles of the Gyrotonic Method, Qi Gong, Pilates and Yoga. We focus on movement of all joints, particularly the spine while working on fluidity and range of motion by stimulating the nervous system. We also add in some circuits for the last 15-20 minutes for that extra fun factor!  No experience necessary.
