1.  What do you enjoy most about working at Uncommon Age? 

Hands down, the people.  Both our clients and trainers are just an outstanding bunch of folks. They are down to earth, authentic, intelligent, and most of all, welcoming and accepting of us all!

2.  How would you describe the culture of Uncommon Age? 

Smart and fun.  I personally like to be understand why I’m doing something, and why I should invest my time, effort and money in anything.  I hope to address that in what we do at UA. Things need to make sense to me but at the same time, I want to find joy in what I am doing.  I work off the assumption most people share that desire.

3.  I am inspired by:

Those that I can learn from, which is everyone!  Continual learning and growing is very inspiring to me.

4.  Favorite book/favorite vacation spot/favorite movie/color/junk food:

I love summer, water, and heat.  Everyone that knows me knows that.  So wherever that is, I’m good!  I also love comedic action flicks, 21 Jump Street and The Good Guys are among some of my favorites.  My sister and I always joke that whatever movie she likes, I’ll hate, and vice versa.  It’s all about decreasing threat to my nervous system, so entertainment for me needs to be fun!

5.  How would you describe yourself?

I’m pretty much an open book.  What you see is what you get!  I highly value authenticity and transparency when working with my staff and clients.

About Deb

Joining the Uncommon Age team as a trainer has been one of the best things I’ve ever done. It is so rewarding to see clients improve in their movement, decrease their level of pain, or witness a smile on a clients face when they accomplish their goals.

Uncommon Age stands alone in the St. Croix Valley in teaching our clients how to move more efficiently by doing specific drills to open joints in their bodies. I am so proud to be a part of this great team!

About Anne Schwartz

Anne has over 17 years of experience as a Physical Therapist. She is dedicated to using her knowledge of evaluating and treating musculoskeletal dysfunction in the body and applying it to the field of health and wellness to help clients achieve their personal fitness and post-rehabilitation goals. She is well versed in instructing and motivating clients how to change and improve their body strength, posture and flexibility using a variety of stretching, strengthening and conditioning exercises.

Anne has her own personal rehabilitation journey recovering from two invasive spinal surgeries. She is very familiar and empathic to clients who struggle with back pain and can serve as a bridge between formal rehabilitation services and return to independent fitness. She utilizes her clinical and personal experience to develop effective fitness programs to help clients achieve their highest potential.

Anne is a STOTT® Trained Pilates Instructor and a GYROTONIC® Method Apprentice.

“For the past 12 years I have incorporated Postural Restoration Institute philosophy, techniques, and exercise into my clinical practice to successfully treat everything from pelvic floor dysfunction to chronic back/hip pain. I have worked with professional lacrosse players optimizing injury reduction/management to 80 year old athletes focused on their ability to walk to the mailbox. About Pamela

1.  What do you enjoy most about working at Uncommon Age? 

I enjoy working out at UA because I am constantly learning new information about helping people live and move in more efficient ways!  It’s like no other gym or studio I have been to and the people who work out at the studio are so kind and open to trying new things.

2.   How would you describe the culture of Uncommon Age?   

Uncommon Age is a welcoming studio where anyone at any level of fitness or any age can come and work out at a level that works for them.  There are so many options and accommodations depending on what type of workout an individual wants. No two workouts are the same.

3.  I am inspired by:  

Helping people feel better physically.  Working out is so much more than how many lbs. you want to lose! It’s also about how you want to feel not just today but for the rest of your life.

4.  Favorite book/favorite vacation spot/favorite movie/color/junk food:

I love to read psychological mysteries where the unexpected happens.  I love trying to predict “who did it” before the end of the book.  I am a chocoholic and I own it but it’s all about moderation; sometimes! As far as a vacation spot, just get me to the Atlantic Ocean where I can swim in the ocean and get a good slice of NY pizza and I am a happy girl!

5.  How would you describe yourself?

Part of the reason I enjoy this gig at Uncommon Age is the history of heart disease in my family. I want to be healthy, I want to help others be healthy, and I want to be a role model for my children and family that you can be physically active at any age.   I was raised to believe I can do whatever I put my mind to so whenever someone says, “I can’t do that” or “it’s too hard” I want to help them accomplish what they thought they couldn’t!

About Cindy

Cindy is a certified Perimenopause and Beyond Health Coach, working with women to reduce the symptoms of menopause through education and coaching.  She is RN BSN, with Public Health Nurse degree and also holds a certification in Pelvic Muscle Dysfunction.  Cindy has 12 years of urology and Women’s health experience, with a focus on helping women to manage symptoms of urinary urgency, frequency, incontinence, pelvic pain and sexual dysfunction.

Cindy has a passion to empower women to become healthier through holistic modifications and education to create sustainable life changes.  She believes that health is a combination of mind and body well being and she partners with clients to create their path for optimal wellness.

Cheryl received her certification to teach from the Yoga Center of Minneapolis in 2004, and has enjoyed sharing the benefits of the practice ever since! She is a longtime practitioner and has studied under some of the most knowledgeable and advanced teachers in the USA. She has a broad range of experience teaching to all ages and continues to attend workshops and trainings to enhance her own practice and bring more knowledge to her students.

Cheryl’s classes blend postures and breath, meditation, intent to one’s own body awareness, and often the love of music to create a very natural, playful and inspired practice. She believes each of us creates our own unique journey down the yoga path, and encourages all her students to find their bliss both on and off the mat.
